Podiatry Care for Our Veteran Community
At Move Podiatry, we are an approved provider for the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA). We welcome DVA card holders and are committed to helping you maintain your mobility and live pain-free.
Your Simple Path to DVA-Funded Care
Getting the podiatry care you're entitled to is a simple, three-step process.
Our goal is to provide the highest quality care to keep you on your feet. As a DVA provider, we can offer a wide range of clinically necessary treatments.
Veteran Gold Card
The Gold Card funds podiatry services for all your clinical needs.
Veteran White Card
The White Card funds podiatry services for specific, DVA-accepted conditions.
Our fully-funded services include:
- Comprehensive foot and nail care (e.g., corns, calluses)
- Treatment for ingrown toenails
- Diabetic foot health assessments
- Wound and ulcer management
- Treatment for foot and ankle pain (e.g., plantar fasciitis, Achilles pain)
- Biomechanical assessments to check your gait
- Prescription for Custom Orthotics
- Prescription for Medical Grade Footwear (MGF)
For some advanced treatments, such as Shockwave Therapy, we may need to seek prior approval from DVA. We manage this entire process for you.
Understanding Your Treatment Cycle
DVA referrals are managed using a “treatment cycle.”
Your referral from your GP (D904 form) is valid for up to 12 appointments or 1 year, whichever comes first.
You can have as many treatment cycles as your GP determines are clinically necessary for your health.
You don’t need to keep track—our team will let you know when your current referral is due to expire so you can visit your GP for a new one.
What to Expect at Your First Appointment
Your podiatrist will take time to understand:
-
Your medical and movement history
-
Your daily activities and goals
-
Any concerns you currently have with your feet or walking
We will then create a care plan with clear steps, supportive guidance, and practical strategies that suit your everyday life.
Frequently Asked DVA Questions
Will I have to pay for my podiatry appointment?
No. As an approved DVA provider, we accept the DVA fee as full payment. As long as you have a valid GP referral, there will be no gap payment or out-of-pocket cost for any eligible treatment.
Do I really need a referral from my GP?
Yes. A valid referral (D904) from your GP is a DVA requirement. It allows us to treat you under the DVA program and ensures your care is coordinated with your doctor.
What is the difference between my Gold Card and White Card?
A Veteran Gold Card covers you for podiatry treatment for all clinically necessary conditions. A Veteran White Card covers you for podiatry treatment only for your specific, DVA-accepted service-related conditions.
How often can I see my podiatrist?
You can see us as often as is clinically necessary, within the limits of your 12-session treatment cycle. Whether you need ongoing nail care every few months or a short-term plan for a sports injury, we will tailor a schedule to your needs.
